Rule (Marked Men #1) by: Jay Crownover Review

"Opposites in every way . . . except the one that matters

Shaw Landon loved Rule Archer from the moment she laid eyes on him. Rule is everything a straight-A pre-med student like Shaw shouldn’t want—and the only person she’s never tried to please. She isn’t afraid of his scary piercings and tattoos or his wild attitude. Though she knows that Rule is wrong for her, her heart just won’t listen.

To a rebel like Rule Archer, Shaw Landon is a stuck-up, perfect princess-and his dead twin brother’s girl. She lives by other people’s rules; he makes his own. He doesn’t have time for a good girl like Shaw-even if she’s the only one who can see the person he truly is.

But a short skirt, too many birthday cocktails, and spilled secrets lead to a night neither can forget. Now, Shaw and Rule have to figure out how a girl like her and a guy like him are supposed to be together without destroying their love . . . or each other."

I gave this book a 4/5 stars
The Story
The story I thought was very well written. It didn't take me long to get pulled into the story, which I like books that pull me in quick.  I usually read more YA books so I am kind of new to the New Adult books but the ones I have read so far I have really like.  I wish there was more then the one book because I would have like to learn more about the characters.  I thought everything was explained well and everything was kind of figured out at the end of the book but I like reading back stories and learning about the characters but that is just me.

The Characters

Shaw- she is the main character and she seems to have it all together. She's going to school to be a doctor which we don't here a lot about it's mentioned a few times through out the book about her studying for test and things like that.  The only thing that I had trouble with is  I don't know how she kept her feelings for Rule from coming out when she was basically in love with him since she was like fourteen.  Her parents aren't the greatest and her ex-boyfriend ends up crazy

Rule- He is the typical bad boy, Tattoos & piercings and all that stuff, I would have like to have had more about his story. we really don't get a lot from him except his relationship with Shaw. I would have liked to find out more about his personal life then what was in the book. And again I don't know how he didn't notice that Shaw was in love with him since they were teenagers.
